Why am I getting severe stomach pains and dark red blood in stool?
Blood in the stool is never normal and you need to be evaluated. Bleeding in young adults can be from hemorrhoids, colitis (infectious or inflammatory bowel disease), Polyps, peptic ulcer disease, meckel’s diverticulum or in rare cases lesions. Please be evaluated at your earliest convenience. You need to go to the emergency room if you are sympathetic- bleeding is heavy, feel dizzy, have chest pain or feel short of breath. READ MORE

Tramadol is an opioid drug. It can cause constipation, vomiting and can worsen IBS symptoms. If you notice that your IBS symptoms get worse while on Tramadol, you may want to talk to your physician regarding alternative pain medication. READ MORE
