Dr. Fischer is a seasoned family physician licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida. He was in practice with AMITA Health Medical Group Family Medicine Hoffman Estates,Illinois holding the esteemed position of President of Medical Staff at St. Alexius Medical Center, and leads the Safe Birth Project, a program designed to assist parents and children throughout the pregnancy and birth journey. He is presently employed as a Family Physician with Guardian Health in Venice, Florida.
Over the course of his career thus far, Dr. Fischer has committed himself to making medical care safer for patients. For example, he spearheaded the formation of the Medical Staff Quality Committee, which regularly reviews physician conduct and provides educational services to help ensure that patients are getting the best possible care. He also serves on Quality Control of the Alexian Brothers Hospital System, monitoring the quality of care the hospital is providing.
A 1969 graduate of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University, Dr. Fischer went on to serve his internship at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital.
Having been practicing medicine for over five decades, he is board certified in family medicine by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons The NBPAS is an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.
Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Fischer is an active member of the Christian Medical and Dental Associations, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
