A trusted pediatrician, Dr. Strassman is the Medical Director of Lactation Services for St. Luke’s University Health Network. She sees children under the age of 18 at St. Luke’s Quakertown Pediatrics and moms/babies at St. Luke’s Baby & Me Support Center.

Having had an interest in breastfeeding since residency, Dr. Strassman started helping mothers and babies over 20 years ago. She has always believed that she is working in partnership with parents to aid them in raising happy and healthy children. 

“My goal with breastfeeding is to help mothers reach their goals, whatever they may be. I have done additional training through the Reach Institute in the area of psychiatry for the primary care provider in order to help children and adolescents who are struggling in the ever-increasingly stressful world in which we live” expressed the doctor.

Academically, Dr. Strassman obtained her medical degree from the Drexel University College of Medicine in 1991. She then went on to perform her internship and residency in pediatrics at North Shore University Hospital in 1992 and 1994, respectively. 

A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, she is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

For over 25 years, Dr. Strassman has been on the Board of Directors for the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, of which she is a member and Fellow. 

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.

When she is not working, Dr. Strassman likes to read, walk, and spend time with her family (when they are home).
