What do you attribute your success to?
- When I was 13 years old, my father took me to a blind orphanage and it stirred in me a desire to help them. My father told me the best way I would be able to help them would be to become a doctor and that really motivated me. My father died not long after that and left my mother with 8 children to raise. I did go on to get my medical degree in India, and then I came to the United States. After I finished my training and got my first job, I went to the communications department and told them if they ever needed a speaker, I would do that. So I started my motivational speaking or talking on specific health topics, and before long I got a radio show and eventually my television show, Health Talks. I tell my grandchildren whatever they do, stay motivated and try to help people.
