Erik C. Spayde, MD is a fellowship-trained Spine Surgeon with expertise in the treatment of neck and back disorders. He has been performing spine surgery since 2005 and has experience in treating disc herniations, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, kyphosis, scoliosis, and spine fractures. His expertise in multiple complex spinal disorders and breadth of training allows him to choose the proper treatment modality for his patients. He specializes in minimally invasive outpatient spine surgery and performs endoscopic spine surgery. His primary research interest is in artificial disc replacement and he has specialty training in cervical and lumbar disc replacement. He has participated in multiple IDE clinical trial to enable FDA approval of the most advanced spinal implants in the United States. He performs facet replacement (TOPS) and specializes in motion preservation surgery of the spine to enable his patients to return to their pre-injury activity level.

Following his surgical internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, he completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and further specialized in complex spinal-reconstruction surgery at The Spine Institute at St. John’s Health Center.
