Pertaining to his educational background, Dr. Mulieri earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with highest honors from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He then went on to obtain both his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Molecular Biology and Development and his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, New York.
Wanting to further his education, he completed his internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopedic surgery at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. This was followed by a fellowship in shoulder & elbow surgery at the Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa, Florida.
After his fellowship training, Dr. Mulieri was a visiting professor at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, studying the most advanced techniques for the treatment of complex elbow problems. In addition to extensive clinical training, he has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Aided by his expertise, the doctor is board-certified through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, which is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Connecticut Orthopedic Society.
