Founded in 1920 by local residents responding to a flu epidemic, Southwest General Health Center has always been a hospital committed to supporting the community. The doctor’s medical career began after he completed his medical degree at the Government Medical College, Kottayam in India in 1982. Upon relocating to the United States, he served his residencies in internal medicine at Lutheran Medical Center & MetroHealth Medical Center, followed by his fellowship in pulmonary/critical care at University Hospitals in Cleveland.
Following his training, Dr. Eapen became board-certified in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
As a testament to his success, he attained Fellowship status with the American College of Physicians (FACP), the American College of Chest Physicians (FCC), and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (FAASM).
