Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Elise Barnett, who serves patients in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Barnett is a board-certified dermatologist with years of experience in general medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and surgical dermatology. After spending years offering patients her skilled dermatology services both as the co-owner of a successful dermatology practice in Montgomery, Alabama and as part of a large dermatology practice, she decided to open her own small, boutique dermatology practice.
Bringing her passion for, and skills in, clinical and aesthetic dermatology to patients in a smaller, more personalized setting, Dr. Barnett is now the Owner of Atlanta Skin Wellness Center in Georgia.
The launch of her private practice has filled her with excitement as it allows her to establish deeper connections with each patient and closely tailor treatment plans to cater to their individualized requirements.
Focusing on “one patient at a time” and providing a warm, friendly office environment, Dr. Barnett is known for spending the time needed to carefully listen to each of her patients’ individual concerns – thoroughly analyzing, and effectively treating, skin care issues that may get overlooked when dealing with a fast-paced environment.
A south Louisiana native, Dr. Barnett received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She then attended Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans where she earned the Henry W. Jolly, Jr. Professor Award, honoring her as an outstanding medical student in dermatology.
After an internship at Tulane University, Dr. Barnett completed her residency in dermatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She and her husband then relocated to Atlanta from Montgomery, Alabama where she co-owned and operated a successful general and cosmetic dermatology practice for more than 7 years.
While in Montgomery, Dr. Barnett served as clinical associate professor of dermatology at the University of Alabama Health Center, offering clinical instruction to UAB medical students and residents for more than six years.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Barnett is active in a number of local and national professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgeons, and the Dermatology Foundation, where she served as co-chair for the Leader’s Society Campaign from 2014-2016.
Throughout her career, Dr. Barnett has undergone extensive training in the most advanced cosmetic and medical dermatology procedures. She remains at the forefront of the ever-evolving field, continuously researching and carefully evaluating each new procedure and technology before incorporating them into her practice. Her primary concern is achieving the best possible outcomes for her patients rather than blindly adopting every new product or procedure that comes along.
With numerous years of expertise in injectable fillers, Botox, laser procedures, and skin rejuvenation, Dr. Barnett exhibits exceptional skills in medical and surgical dermatology. She specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of common and complex skin conditions in both children and adults.
With the establishment of Atlanta Skin Wellness Center, her dedication lies in delivering compassionate, experienced, and personalized patient care. Dr. Barnett firmly believes that this approach can truly make a significant difference in helping patients achieve and maintain beautiful, healthy skin.
