With a focus on comprehensive sports medicine care and advanced orthopedic surgery, Dr. McClung is a trusted expert in the treatment of elbow, hip, knee, and shoulder injuries, as well as fractures. His dedication to patient well-being extends beyond the clinic, as he currently serves as the sports medicine provider for local high schools as well as Kings Hammer Soccer Clubs and professionals at the Florence Y’alls.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. McClung is passionate about educating young athletes on injury prevention and rehabilitation. In 2012, he initiated a program at Beacon aimed at teaching high school students about orthopedic anatomy using cadavers, fostering a deeper understanding of musculoskeletal health among the youth.

Dr. McClung’s impressive credentials speak to his commitment to excellence in orthopedic care. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Davidson College in 1995 before pursuing his Medical Degree at the West Virginia School of Medicine in 1999. Following his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the Medical College of Ohio, Dr. McClung completed a prestigious fellowship in sports medicine at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center, culminating in 2005. 

As a testament to his expertise, Dr. McClung is board certified in both orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine. He is an esteemed member of several professional organizations, including the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Kentucky Medical Association, the Lexington Medical Society, and the American College of Sports Medicine.
