A 2004 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Dr. Smith completed his ophthalmology surgical training at the largest medical center in the world, the Texas Medical Center in Houston. Following his education, he became board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America. Moreover, he is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
