Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Larry C. Chan, who serves patients in California.

As a board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Chan specializes in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases that mainly affect the heart and blood vessels. He is a part of the team at Elite Cardiology Group in Upland, California. 

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the doctor can also be found on staff at Chino Valley Medical Center in Chino, California & San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland. 

Chino Valley Medical Center, established in 1972, is a 112-bed community hospital centrally located in beautiful Southern California. Its mission is to deliver compassionate, quality care to patients and better healthcare to communities. It is owned and operated by Prime Healthcare Services, Inc., a hospital management company in Ontario, California.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Chan earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania. He then went on to complete his internship, residency, and fellowship at Plaza Medical Center of Fort Worth in Texas. 

With regard to the doctor’s noteworthy accomplishments, he is board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, which is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
