Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
Among his outstanding contributions and performance, Dr. Malik was published in the March 2018 Cath Lab Digest issue as a Co-Author of Novel Use of Corindus Robotic Heart Catheterization System for Tryton Side Branch Stent Placement. He also co-authored a case report on Endovascular Repair of a Pseudoaneurysm Adjacent to the Ascending Thoracic Aorta Using a 25-mm Amplatzer Multifenestrated Septal Occluder – Cribriform. This was published on the Vascular Disease Management website, the official news source for the international symposium on endovascular therapy.
His accolades include: an award for setting the record for the fastest “Door-to-Balloon” (time to treat heart attacks) which was 7 minutes; being recognized as a “Healthcare Hero” in 2008 by the Business Press; and being selected as “Top Doc” in Fort Worth Texas Magazine in 2009.
