A specialist in the field of internal medicine, Dr. Massey IV is trained to diagnose and treat an extensive variety of diseases and illnesses in adults. He has been in practice with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center since May of 2008.

The Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, formerly known as the National Naval Medical Center and colloquially referred to as the Bethesda Naval Hospital, Walter Reed, or Navy Med, is a United States’ tri-service military medical center, located in the community of Bethesda, Maryland, near the headquarters of the National Institutes of Health. It is one of the most prominent U.S. military medical centers in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and the United States, having served numerous U.S. presidents since the 20th century.

Back in 1993, Dr. Massey IV graduated with his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He then went on to perform his internship at the same educational venue in 1997, and his residency in internal medicine at Howard University in 2000.

A member of the American College of Physicians, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
