He then went on to complete his residency in radiation oncology at Hahnemann University Hospital (Allegheny) in 1981. Dr. Markoe also completed a doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh and a post-doctoral year before Medical School..

The ABR is an independent, not-for-profit organization and is one of 24 national medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
