A highly trained anesthesiologist, Dr. Naveira has been an integral member of the team at Miami Anesthesia Services since 2020.
Miami Anesthesia Services consists of a group of board certified physician anesthesiologists, who are the owners and anesthesia providers. The practice specializes in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, efficient outpatient clinical models, with training in cardiac anesthesia, and multimodal postoperative pain management. Its mission is to provide an exceptional level of perioperative leadership, efficiency, safety, surgeon satisfaction, and patient satisfaction.
Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Naveira lived there until he graduated with his Medical Degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He then moved to New York City for his residency in anesthesiology at New York Medical College.
After deciding it was too cold up there, he moved to Florida in 1991 and worked at Holy Cross Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for over 30 years. During his tenure at the hospital, Dr. Naveira performed anesthesia for all case types, including cardiac surgery, general surgery, neurosurgery, OB, and orthopedic surgery.
Board certified in anesthesiology, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.
On a professional level, Dr. Naveira is an active member of the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery.
