I am sorry to learn about your condition. A bronchoscopy is a very invasive procedure. Not only will you be sedated, you shall require general anesthesia to tolerate such a procedure because of the possible treatments required. However, depending on what’s going on with your respiratory system, you can have a laryngoscopy done in an ENT’s office… with that, they can only see the gateway to your trachea and not the bronchial tree. It depends on the reason for the ear surgery and the location. The surgery could be in the external, middle, or inner ear.
