Get to know Family Physician Dr. Jacqueline Gerhart, who serves patients in Windsor, Wisconsin.
Dr. Gerhart is a diligent family physician whose special interests include women’s health, sports medicine, mental health, and minor surgical procedures. She is currently practicing full-spectrum family medicine, including maternity and inpatient care, and is based at UW Health Deforest-Windsor Clinic.
Among her other titles, she is VP of Clinical Informatics at Epic, a Clinical Associate Professor within the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, and a health columnist for the Wisconsin State Journal.
Her passion is to reduce barriers to medical care through the best use of technology. She enjoys advocating to align policy with practice to improve clinician well-being and empower patients.
A Wisconsin native, Dr. Gerhart completed undergraduate degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience at UW-Madison. While in college, she worked designing medical devices and doing industrial engineering projects to improve healthcare delivery. She attended medical school at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, Minnesota, where she developed a strong commitment to primary care.
Furthering her training, she performed her internship in family medicine at Mayo Clinic Rochester in 2009, and her residency in family medicine at the University of Wisconsin (Madison) in 2011.
Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.
Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Gerhart is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP).
