Get to know Medical Oncologist Dr. Sidney Crain, who serves patients throughout the State of California.
A medical oncologist with over three decades of experience, Dr. Crain retired from Kaiser Permanente Roseville Medical Center in November 2010 and is currently working as a locum tenens.
Since February 2016, he has been serving as an oncology consultant at AristaMD in Sacramento, California. Some of his areas of expertise include laryngeal cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, mesothelioma, and testicular carcinoma.
A 1977 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Dr. Crain went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at Hines VA Hospital 1977 to 1980. He then furthered his training with a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute from 1980 to 1982.
Subsequent to his training, the doctor attained board certification in both medical oncology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
On a professional level, Dr. Crain is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), as well as a member of both the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
