Dr. Karelis earned her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry Degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1997. Following her graduation, she completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) in general and hospital dentistry at the same institution in 1998. Her extensive training has equipped her with the skills to perform all aspects of dentistry, including advanced digital dentistry, cosmetic, and restorative procedures, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care tailored to their needs.
Before establishing Hazard Dental Clinic, Dr. Karelis spent 19 years as a private practitioner. In 2001, she transitioned to providing dental services at a clinic for the homeless and underserved. Dr. Karelis' commitment to serving vulnerable populations underscores her passion for dentistry and her deep compassion for patients. She believes that everyone deserves access to quality dental care, and her work in the community reflects her dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Karelis enjoys spending quality time with her family and pets.
