  • Will speech stuttering go away?

Hello! There are several factors that may predict persistence of stuttering. For example, a family history of a relative where the stuttering persisted through adulthood, being male and later onset of stuttering after 3.5 years of age to name a few. About 75-80 % will get better in a year or two even without speech therapy. However if the stuttering is worsening it’s best to consult with a speech and language therapist. I hope this helps.
