Get to know Family Medicine Physician Dr. Harriet Ann Bielawski, who serves the population of California. Dr. Bielawski completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science. Wanting to further her education she then graduated with her Medical Degree from the Karolinska Institutet, Medicinska Fakulteten in Stockholm, Sweden in 1987, giving her over three decades of experience in her field. After obtaining her Medical Degree she returned to the United States and completed her family medicine residency with the St. Joseph Medical Center. Dr. Bielawski is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She currently practices as a Family Medicine Physician with her private practice, Clairemont Mesa Med Offices, an affiliate of the Kaiser Permanente provider, she is also affiliated with the UC San Diego’s medical school where she works on a voluntary basis as associate clinical professor. Dr. Bielawski is bilingual and is fluent in both Polish and English. Family medicine is the medical specialty which provides continuing, comprehensive health care for the individual and family. It is a specialty in breadth that integrates biological, clinical and behavioral sciences. The scope of family medicine encompasses all ages, both sexes, each organ system, as well as every disease entity. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor.
