Educated in Nicaragua, Dr. Cuadra graduated with his medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua at León in 1981 and completed his Internship and Residency program in 1984. He then relocated to the United States, where he obtained his Education Commision for Foreign Medical Graduate certification and Federal Licensing Examination which led to his second Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Memorial Health University Medical Center (MHUMC) in Savannah, Georgia. From 1997-1999 he served as an Academic Internal Medicine Professor and Associate Director at MHUMC.
Specializing in the medical treatment of adults, he is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians which is a national organization of Internal Medicine Specialists who apply scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to both diagnosis and treatment of adults across a wide range of health complexities.
