This may seem overly simple, but the most important things to do are have a physician perform a complete medical history and physical examination with a focus on the neurological examination. Depending on the physicians findings blood work and brain imaging may be indicated. It is also important to follow the physicians instructions if your friend is diagnosed with a concussion.
