Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Deschamps returned with his parents to the Dominican Republic in his late teens. He entered an intensive, combined Pre-med/Medical Program in 1984 and graduated with his Medical Degree from Santo Domingo Institute of Technology (INTEC) in 1990. He then had the opportunity to work as a general practitioner and teach before returning to the United States.
Completing his training in internal medicine-primary care at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan from 1995-1998, Dr. Deschamps relocated to Miami, Florida. There, he joined a very successful group practice specializing in both inpatient and outpatient medicine, for the next 5 1/2 years, before venturing out on his own in 2004.
Throughout his line of work, Dr. Deschamps has gained specialized skills in managing patients with undifferentiated or multi-system disease processes and expertise in managing serious acute illnesses that affect multiple organ systems simultaneously in a single patient, as well as the management of chronic diseases in a single or multiple patients. He was specifically trained to care for patients with multiple simultaneous problems or complex comorbidities.
