Dr. Akbar Nawab is Orthopedic Surgeon practicing in Louisville, KY. He is Board Certified, completing a residency and two subspeciality training years. A fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy with a focus on knee restoration as well as joint replacement, has given Dr. Nawab the unique ability to treat a variety of knee injuries, from cartilage to meniscus to ligament tears. With almost 20 years of experience Dr. Nawab can address any knee problem. His resume includes several publications in peer reviewed journals. He has developed several orthopedic devices for Acl, meniscus and shoulder surgery, which are currently being used to improve patient’s return back to sports and activities. He has lectured both nationally and internationally, recently returning from a lecture series in Switzerland. Dr Nawab’s most recent focus is in partial knee replacement. He has designed a new implant to help patients with arthritis through a simple outpatient procedure maximize their quality of life with less risk and greater function.
