Get to know Family Physician Dr. Daniel F. Butler, who serves patients in Murray, Kentucky.

Practicing since 1978 with a medical focus in wellness, Dr. Butler is a devoted physician at Village Medical in Murray, Kentucky. He treats patients of all ages and conducts adult physical exams and Medicare annual wellness visits. 

Village Medical provides comprehensive primary care services. The doctors and staff partner with patients to understand their needs, and focus not just on treatment, but also education, prevention, and chronic health issues. The providers combine their knowledge and compassion with the tools and technology needed to help create healthier, happier lives for their patients. 

Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Butler earned his undergraduate degree and attended medical school at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He then completed his residency at UAB Medicine Huntsville, serving as the residency director of family medicine at The University of Alabama Huntsville and the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP), he is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Licensed to practice medicine in Kentucky, Dr. Butler is affiliated with Murray-Calloway County Hospital, Jackson Purchase Medical Center, and Marshall County Hospital.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

In his free time, Dr. Butler enjoys woodworking and camping.
