Get to know Pulmonologist Dr. Andrew M. Murphy, who serves patients in Norwalk, Connecticut. 

As a well-versed pulmonologist, Dr. Murphy specializes in pulmonary disease, internal medicine, and critical care medicine. In practice since 1983, he sees patients at Westmed Medical Group in Norwalk, Connecticut, as well as serves as a senior attending physician at Norwalk Hospital.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Murphy was awarded his medical degree from New York Medical College. He then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine as well as his fellowship in pulmonary disease at Montefiore Medical Center.

A Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

To advance his professional efforts, he remains a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the American Thoracic Society, and the Connecticut State Medical Society. He previously held a teaching appointment as a Preceptor in Pulmonary Pathophysiology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
