A board certified pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Presti maintains a private practice with two office locations in Brooklyn and NYC, New York. He is the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Lenox Hill Hospital/NSLIJ and can also be found on staff at the AVM Center of New York at Lenox Hill. Dr. Presti is also a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
Dr. Presti graduated with his medical degree from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore/Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy, in 1978. He soon relocated to the United States, where he served an internship in pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University at Brooklyn (1979 – 1980) and residency in pediatrics at Lenox Hill Hospital (1981 – 1982). Furthermore, he completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at NYU Medical Center (1982 – 1984).
Dr. Presti attained board certification pediatrics (1984) and pediatric cardiology (1988) with the American Board of Pediatrics. The American Board of Pediatrics was founded in 1933. It is one of the 24 certifying boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties. The ABP is an independent and nonprofit organization.
Pediatric cardiology is a medical specialty that involves the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired cardiovascular problems of the fetus, infant, child, adolescent and young adult.
Prior to his current endeavors, Dr. Presti was the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Long Island College Hospital and Roosevelt-St. Luke’s Hospital. Listed in the Best Doctors List of New York Magazine for 16 consecutive years (1998 – 2013), Dr. Presti is a Fellow of the American Association of Pediatrics and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is licensed to practice in the state of New York.
