Dr. Jeffrey W. Gaver received a veterinary medical degree (DVM) from the University of Minnesota. He completed a residency in small animal medicine and surgery at Purdue University. After practicing Veterinary Medicine for several years in the Oconomowoc, Wisconsin area, he became interested in international health. Through his Rotary club he developed a project in Haiti and led several medical mission trips there. He received several awards and honors for his international service. Upon his return, he worked toward a MPH (Masters in Public Health) degree at the University of Minnesota and then entered medical school and received his medical degree (MD) from the University of Wisconsin Madison. He completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin where he served as chief resident. After practicing Emergency Medicine for five years, he returned to Aurora Sinai Medical Center and completed a residency in Internal Medicine. He then practiced primary care as internist in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin for twenty years. He also worked for two years as an internist at the Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center. Throughout his career, he flew weekly as flight physician at UW Med Flight, in Madison, Wisconsin. He wrote a book about his flight adventures entitled Fight Log, A Book About Life, And Sometimes Death. Twenty years later he wrote a second book recalling his flight experiences over the years. It is entitled Epilogue, Stories of Hoping, Coping, Inspiration and Redemption. Gaver was the Medical Director of the Milwaukee Mile Race track for ten years. He also served as Medical Director of the Road America Race Track in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin for 22 years. Following retirement from full time Internal Medicine in 2013, Dr. Gaver worked with Diversified Care as an Urgent Care Physician. In 2015 he moved to Sun City, Arizona. In January 2015 he joined the medical staff of Health Services at Arizona State University (ASU). He served there as an urgent care and a primary care physician in student health for three years. He also worked with the Department of Animal Care Technology providing medical consultation and occupational medicine services. He actively teaches Advanced Life Support classes. He interacted through clinical mentoring and lecturing with the MAYO internal medicine residents that rotate through the student Clinic in the Young Adult Medicine Rotation. Additionally, he was chairman of the Pandemic Medical Sub-committee for ASU. After retiring from ASU, he joined Med-Link, a division of Envision Health Care as a medical consultant for airline passengers who develop health emergencies during flight. He communicates with the flight crew through satellite phone to manage these problems. He works out of Banner University Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine for Envision Healthcare. He is a part time clinical Assistant Professor in the Center for Simulation and Innovation at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Phoenix. His hobbies are model railroading, fishing, and writing. He has two adult children. He lives in Sun City on Dawn Lake with his wife, Bonnie. He spends his summers in Wisconsin Working at Road America Race Track in Elkhart Lake, WI and with Urgent Care facilities in North Eastern Wisconsin.

Following retirement from full-time internal medicine in 2013, Dr. Gaver worked with Diversified Care as an Urgent Care Physician. In 2015, he moved to Sun City, Arizona. In January of 2015, he joined the medical staff of Health Services at Arizona State University (ASU). He served there as an urgent care and a primary care physician in student health for three years. He also worked with the Department of Animal Care Technology, providing medical consultation and occupational medicine services.
After retiring from ASU, Dr. Gaver joined Med-Link, a division of Envision Health Care as a medical consultant for airline passengers who develop health emergencies during flight. He communicates with the flight crew through satellite phone to manage these problems.
A Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP), the doctor is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional, and examination standards.
