A trusted pediatric urologist, Dr. Freyle joined Pediatric Urology Associates, PC in 2004, seeing patients in Brooklyn and Staten Island, New York. He also serves as an Assistant Professor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and is a faculty member of the Urology Residency Program at Maimonides Medical Center.
Since its inception in the 1970s, Pediatric Urology Associates, PC has grown to become one of the largest groups of pediatric urologists in the United States, with several of its physicians holding positions as departmental chiefs at prominent medical centers in the region. Their mission is to improve the health of the children they serve with a commitment to excellence in urologic care. Their goal is to offer accessible, high-quality care and services that set community standards, exceed patients’ expectations.
A native of Bogota, Colombia, Dr. Freyle earned his undergraduate degree from the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, and received his medical degree from the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario Facultad de Medicina. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in urology at the Maimonides Medical Center, followed by his fellowship in pediatric urology at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center.
In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in urology and pediatric urology by the American Board of Urology, whose mission is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, as well as to work with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care.
Pediatric urology is a surgical subspecialty of medicine dealing with the disorders of children’s genitourinary systems. Pediatric urologists provide care for both boys and girls ranging from birth to early adult age. The most common problems are those involving disorders of urination, reproductive organs, and testes.
As a testament to his success, Dr. Freyle has been the recipient of the Top Doctor Award by Castle Connolly Magazine.
