Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Alicia B. Vittone, who serves patients in Houston, Texas.

A trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Vittone sees patients at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. She also serves as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Baylor College of Medicine.

Before embarking on her professional journey, she graduated with her medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in Argentina in 1975. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2001.

Board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), the doctor is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association, and the Houston Psychoanalytic Society.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
