Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Nathaniel Fleischner, who serves patients in Wellington, Florida.

An established hospitalist with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry, Dr. Fleischner serves as an attending physician and Core Faculty at Wellington Regional Medical Center.

Wellington Regional Medical Center is a 235-bed, acute care hospital, owned by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., a highly respected healthcare management organization. In regards to his educational background, Dr. Fleischner graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the Temple University School of Pharmacy in 2000, and earned his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine in 2005. He then went on to complete two consecutive residencies in internal medicine at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and University of Miami Clinics and Hospitals in 2008 and 2009, respectively.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. The primary focus is caring for hospitalized patients and co-management with other specialties. Hospitalists take an active part in medical care and ensure a safe discharge for the patients they take care of. They are being increasingly involved in administrative roles, given their expertise and collaboration with various teams in the hospital.

Among his most notable achievements, Dr. Fleischner has been the recipient of the Patients' Choice Award (2018, 2014), On-Time Doctor Award (2018, 2014), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014).
