Dr. Dsurney is a board certified clinical psychologist ​​​​and ​recognized as an HIMS aviation neuropsychologist, specializing in the comprehensive assessment of psychological and neuropsychological conditions for FAA pilot evaluations, as well as pre-employment and fitness-for-duty evaluations.

Leveraging years of clinical service, teaching, and research, Dr. Dsurney now practices in Tampa, Florida, serving the community through Tampa Psychological Associates and Aviation Neuropsychology. Here, he diligently addresses the psychological and neuropsychological assessment needs of his patients, applying his extensive expertise to promote their well-being and safety.

Beginning his academic journey, Dr. Dsurney graduated with his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology at Rutgers University in 1982. Building upon this foundation, he furthered his education at Fairleigh Dickinson University-Metropolitan Campus, honing his skills in clinical psychology from 1982 to 1984. 

Following this, Dr. Dsurney embarked on an internship in clinical psychology at Erie County Medical Center from 1988 and 1989. Ultimately, he achieved his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in 1991.

With an impressive career spanning over 25 years, Dr. Dsurney has amassed a wealth of experience in the evaluation and treatment of various psychological and neuropsychological disorders. His professional journey has encompassed both inpatient hospital settings and outpatient clinical environments, demonstrating his versatility and expertise in diverse medical contexts. His extensive background also includes a profound understanding of the assessment and treatment of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Notably, Dr. Dsurney has provided his services as a contractor to the US Army, delivering clinical evaluations to active duty service members. In addition, he has conducted research in the areas of TBI and PTSD on behalf of the Department of Defense. 

His specialized training in aviation neuropsychology, coupled with HIMS certification, further underscores his commitment to the psychological well-being of aviation professionals.

What’s more, Dr. Dsurney’s dedication to his field is exemplified by his board certification in clinical psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology.
