Get to know Internist Dr. Scott S. Yen, who serves patients in Oak Park, Illinois. 

Dr. Yen is an internist serving Oak Park and the surrounding communities. He is affiliated with Chicago Health Medical Group, a practice that believes a patient relationship is a partnership that spans a lifetime and that two-way communication is the key to good health. They strive to provide patient-centered healthcare and invite their patients and their families to be a part of the care team, as equal members in the decision-making and treatment process. 

Furthermore, Dr. Yen is an authority on evidence-based medicine, a discipline that applies clinical expertise and the best research to meet individual patient needs and preferences. Dr. Yen has published and presented on evidence-based medicine and other subjects, throughout his career.

He states his professional philosophy is “The integration of clinical expertise and individual patient experience is key to healthier outcomes.” He also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine.

In regards to his education, Dr. Yen earned his Medical Degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 1992. He went on to complete a residency at the University of Chicago Department of Medicine. 

Additionally, Dr. Yen is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.  To stay up to date in his field, he remains a professional member of the American Society of Internal Medicine and the Society of General Internal Medicine.

Internal Medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. As an internist, Dr. Yen provides comprehensive care and manages treatment with surgeons as well. He will establish long-term relationships with his patients and incorporate disease prevention and mental health care into his practice.
