Get to know Family Physician Dr. Sergio S. Cantu, who serves patients in Alice, Texas.

Dr. Cantu is a well-versed family physician caring for patients 16 and older. At Brush Country Medical, PLLC in Alice, Texas, his office concentrates on chronic care management of patients with high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and more. 

With deep roots in South Texas and a passion for caring for his local people, he is also affiliated with CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Alice.

Raised in San Diego, Texas, Dr. Cantu graduated with his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine in 2007. He then went on to perform his residency in family medicine at Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital in 2011.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. 

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

In honor of his clinical expertise, Dr. Cantu is the recipient of Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2016).
