Get to know Nephrologist Dr. Inderpal Singh, who serves patients in Florence, South Carolina.

Dr. Singh practices all aspects of Nephrology and Hypertension, including chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and transplantation. With over two decades of medical expertise, he is a part of the team of professionals at Pee Dee Nephrology in Florence, South Carolina.

Pee Dee Nephrology consists of a group of physicians, physicians assistants, and medical staff that support the people of Florence and Pee Dee, South Carolina in obtaining and maintaining optimal kidney health. In particular, the group is committed to helping patients with chronic kidney disease, hypertension, dialysis, and related health issues.

Professionally, Dr. Singh holds various roles, including Certified Clinical Specialist in Hypertension, Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, Trustee on the Board of McLeod Foundation, and Medical Director for Dialysis clinics in Kingstree, Lake City, and Florence. He is also on the teaching staff at the McLeod Residency Training Program.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN), the doctor is board-certified in Internal medicine, Nephrology, and Hypertension by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Originally from India, Dr. Singh earned his medical degree from Government Medical College, Patiala in 1986. He then relocated to the United States to further his training. He completed his residency at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1993, followed by his fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio in 1995. 

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease and Hypertension, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care when indicated. 

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Singh enjoys playing tennis, swimming, hiking and gardening. He is married to Dr. Neena Singh and they have two children Simran and Navkaran who are in College and planning to pursue a career in the Medical field.

Dr. Singh also volunteers at the local Mercy Medical Clinic helping patients with kidney disease who are indigent and unable to afford speciality care.
