Originally from Southern California, Dr. Reddy attended the University of California, Berkeley where he studied and majored in engineering. Afterwards, he then went on to attend medical school at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Reddy gained experience during his training in General Psychiatry at Boston University Medical Center. There, he developed an interest in treating Addictions and completed his fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry. Dr. Reddy is currently board certified in Addiction Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. He is a member of several associations including the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, American Psychiatry Association, American Psychiatric Society, and the American Medical Association. During his training in Boston, Dr. Reddy participated in academic teaching seminars on Addiction. These seminars included giving lectures on topics in Addictions such as Opioid Use Disorders & PTSD, Designer Drugs, and Medical Marijuana. In addition to his many accomplishments, Dr. Reddy and his colleagues published an abstract titled Synthetic Cannabis “Spice”, more potent than natural cannabis and may have increased risk for psychosis? In the American Journal of Addictions and presented the same at the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry’s 22nd Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. Reddy currently practices with 2nd Chance Treatment Center. Within the 2nd Chance Treatment Center, he works as an Addiction Psychiatrist. Dr. Reddy has specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric and substance use problems in individuals seeking treatment for either or both conditions. Given the equivalent impact of psychiatric and substance use disorders upon one another, there is a critical need for specialists trained in the diagnosis and treatment of both conditions.
