Dr. Skopit, a well-respected dermatologist, is in practice with DermCare Management in Dania, Florida. His practice is devoted to general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, which includes the diagnosis and treatment of diseases associated with the skin, hair, and nails.
The doctor and his staff have a keen interest not only in treating dermatological diseases, but also helping their patients to improve their appearance through facial rejuvenation, utilizing modalities such as lasers, chemical facial peels, as well as BOTOX® and Restylane® for facial lines and wrinkles.
DermCare Management is one of the larger networks of medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology experts in the United States. They use a combination of knowledge, experience, compassion and leading-edge technology to treat the unique medical and cosmetic/aesthetic needs of patients, and have dedicated themselves to delivering a remarkable patient-care experience.
In practice since 1981, Dr. Skopit was the CEO and President of A Center For Dermatology joining DermCare Management in 2021. He was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa.
As a physician and educator, he serves as Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at Larkin Community Hospital and as a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Nova Southeastern University, Health Professions Division. He is the Program Director of the dermatology residency training program, as well as the Mohs and dermatopathology fellowships. The training programs are affiliated with Larkin Community Hospital. Following the completion of his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1977, Dr. Skopit went on to further his training after a 1 year internship at Southeastern Medical Center by performing his 3 year residency in dermatology at Atlantic Dermatology in conjunction with Southeastern Medical Center in South Florida from 1978-1981.
Thereafter, he attained board certification in dermatology through the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology, an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the skin.
Throughout his fruitful career, Dr. Skopit has authored numerous articles for prominent dermatology journals and has co-authored a chapter on dermatologic diagnosis in a major textbook. He is a Fellow of Distinction (FAOCD) in the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, past President of the American College of Osteopathic Dermatology from 1993-1994, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), a member of the American Osteopathic Association, a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery & a member of the Florida Society of Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery.
