How can I control the bad smell from my feet?
You definitely should see a podiatrist regarding this problem. There are many ways to treat feet that sweat a great deal and you can also develop a bacterial infection from excessive sweating. This however can be treated with topical medication. I would recommend that you see a podiatrist to relieve your discomfort and heavy sweating. READ MORE
Why do I have flat feet?
Flat feet are generally hereditary. Some people with flat feet have discomfort while others do not. You should see a sports podiatrist and be properly evaluated to determine whether or not that is a cause for your foot discomfort. If so, there are many non-surgical treatments to relieve your discomfort including fabrication of foot orthotics. Flat feet are generally hereditary. A glass piece has gone inside my foot and the area has become red. Will a podiatrist be able to help me?
You should absolutely see a podiatrist for this problem. He can determine whether or not you do in fact have a piece of glass in your foot and if you do so remove it. Not removing a piece of glass can lead to a severe infection which could severely disable you causing you great pain and discomfort. My recommendation is see a board certified podiatrist as soon as possible. READ MORE

Can bath salts help in treating heel pain?
Heel pain can be due to multiple causes. The most common being a condition called plantar fasciitis which is an inflammation of a band of tissue on the bottom of the foot that supports the arch of the foot. It is unlikely that bathing in salt and water will have any significant long-term effect on relieving your discomfort. It may feel good temporarily but in general it will have no therapeutic benefit. On the other hand ice massage to the area 10 to 15 minutes at a time several times a day is much more beneficial. I would recommend you see a sports Podiatrist who can evaluate your condition and determine what the most appropriate form of treatment would be. It may be as simple as changing your shoes to a more supportive shoe, doing stretching exercises, taking some anti-inflammatory medication, or possibly making a foot orthotic to go in your shoe. This can be best determined by seeing a sports podiatrist. READ MORE
Why do I keep getting an ingrown toenail?
Yes. There is a permanent way to remove an ingrown toenail provided that the nail is not infected at the time. The procedure is called a partial matrixectomy and it is a procedure where the root part of the nail that is in growing is cauterized with a chemical called Phenol. This is an office procedure, where you are in a bandage for 1 day; thereafter only using antibiotic cream and band aid. READ MORE

What is the best way of recovering from a sprain?
The key to treating a sprain is RICE: rest, ice, compression and elevation. If after 48 hours there is still significant swelling and pain in the ankle, then it is recommended to see a sports podiatric physician or a foot and ankle orthopedic specialist. X-rays would be taken to determine if there is a fracture and the key is protected immobilization. It is imperative to get the swelling down and then in the absence of a fracture, start aggressive ankle rehabilitation with physical therapy or a Home balance and strengthening exercise program. Foot pain in the morning
It sounds like you have a condition called planter fasciitis. This is an inflammation of a band of tissue on the bottom of the foot as it inserts into the heel. The best thing to do is to do calf stretching exercises at night before you go to sleep and after you wake up in the morning. Also icing three times a day is beneficial as well as making sure that you are wearing good supportive shoes. If these measures do not work, then you need to see a board-certified podiatric physician who can take an x-ray and further evaluate the condition. READ MORE
Ingrown toenail surgery now have thick ridged nails
Unfortunately, after both margins of an ingrown toenail are fixed, the nail has been subjected to trauma and the way your nail has grown back is probably a result of that trauma. This does not happen to everyone's nails, but in about 10 percent of cases, it can. There is not much you can do to change the appearance of the nail except you can try an over-the-counter medication called NuVail, which may enhance the nail's appearance. The other option, while being more radical, is to completely remove the nail, kill the root, and once it is healed, you can apply a false nail or a nail polish with nail bed adherent. If you choose that option, there will be no functional deficit as other then cosmetics, the nails in humans serve no functional purpose. Hope this helps. READ MORE
