Creating beautiful smiles is my passion!  Years of pursuing excellence and advanced education has given our office the ability to understand the origin of a malocclusion. We focus on making an impact of facial growth and development to not only create a beautiful healthy smiles, but also focus on facial balance and airway development to help patients become the best version of themselves.  

A confident smile impacts the ability for people to pursue their own passions and dreams.  We utilize the most advanced technology in a caring, compassionate environment to create these smiles. Whether it's customized braces or clear aligners utilizing cone beam technology to create a personalized treatment plan, Dr Richards takes the time to understand each patient's concerns. We offer Dental Monitoring to remotely follow progress to assure appliances are working with maximum efficiency. This allows patients to progress faster while having fewer in person appointments. We can identify potential problems with poor brushing or tissue inflammation using artificial intelligence. This allows us to be preventive and communicate more with patients while also respecting their busy schedules.  

We offer state of the art treatment in two beautiful facilities: Rock Island, Illinois and Bettendorf, Iowa.  Both offices provide 3d imaging, digital scanning as well as 3d printing to create customized appliances for our patients.  Our amazing team is eager to work with each person to assist with financial flexibility, extended hours, and maximizing treatment at each appointment to help accommodate schedules.

A respected figure in the field of orthodontics, Dr. Richards owns Quad City Orthodontics, tending to patients at their state of the art offices in Rock Island, Illinois, as well as in Bettendorf, Iowa.

During her academic pursuits, she graduated with top honors in college and dental school. Dr. Richards graduated first in her dental class from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry with Doctor of Dental Surgery degree followed by a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics.

Her academic journey includes notable achievements such as completing a Fellowship in Orthodontics and serving as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Orthodontics, where she imparted her knowledge and expertise to dental students and orthodontic residents alike. Her dedication to education extended beyond the classroom as she authored web projects and published articles aimed at advancing orthodontic knowledge and preventing cavities around braces.

Transitioning into private practice in the Quad City area in 1998, Dr. Richards continued to excel both professionally and within the dental community. As a mentor to students and new orthodontists, she generously shares her insights and experiences, fostering the next generation of dental professionals. She attends extensive continuation courses to stay abreast of the latest trends and techniques in orthodontics that allow her to provide a level of care to her patients that combines time honored traditions with progressive treatments to create the most ideal smiles. 

Furthermore, she is deeply involved in professional organizations such as the American Association of Orthodontists, where she was invited to participate in a leadership development course to collaborate with colleagues to assure a coordinated approach to organized dentistry. Her dedication to advancing the field of orthodontics is evident through her involvement in various boards and societies, including serving as the Past President of the Rock Island District Dental Society, a Trustee on the Illinois State Dental Society and Illinois Society of Orthodontists Board of Directors, as well as the Illinois Director to the Midwest Society of Orthodontists.

Dr Richards is passionate about creating healthy, beautiful smiles while helping her patients grow into the healthiest version of themselves. She approaches the specialty of orthodontics by looking for underlying root causes that contribute to and develop orthodontic discrepancies. The specialty of orthodontics centers around diagnosis, prevention, and correction of dental and skeletal discrepancies. Happily married to Dr. Brian Richards, a pediatric dentist, Dr. Richards shares a passion for supporting the Iowa Hawkeyes and enjoys attending football games with her family. They have two children pursuing careers outside of dentistry. Their household is enriched by the presence of two Labrador retrievers. In her leisure time, she cherishes moments spent with family and friends and indulges in occasional getaways to the beach.
