Dr. Reed is a dentist practicing at his private dental practice – Reed Family Dentistry – in Millington, Tennessee. Reed Family Dentistry offers a wide range of services to help patients reach and maintain a level of dental health that embodies comfort, function, and beauty. The mission of the dental practice is to provide excellent dental care that makes a difference in the lives of people.

Dr. Reed earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in english and biology, from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1978. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee at Memphis in 1982. That same year, Dr. Reed joined his father, Dr. E. Loyd Reed, in the practice founded in Millington in 1949. The two worked together until his father’s retirement in 1992.

In July 2017, Dr. Reed welcomed his youngest son, Dr. Taylor Reed, into the Reed Family Dentistry team. 68 years and 3 generations of dentists from the Reed Family.  Dr. Reed participates in continuing education courses to enhance the quality of dentistry that he provides for his patients. He has attended extensive training at the Pankey Institute – a world renowned dental continuing education facility located in Miami, Florida.

Donating his services to those in need, Dr. Reed volunteers at the Church Health Center and has been on their team of volunteer dentists since its inception in 1988. He has also made several mission trips to Honduras with the center.

Dr. Reed is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the American Orthodontic Society, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists are responsible for diagnosing oral diseases, as well as promoting oral health and disease prevention. Additionally, they look for abnormalities within the mouth such as lumps, swelling or discoloration, and perform necessary diagnostic procedures to diagnose and treat these abnormalities. Each year, Dr. Reed participates with Donated Dental Services to provide free dental care to qualified patients in the community.

Dr. Reed and his wife, Lynn, have been members of Second Baptist Church Memphis since 1980 – the year of their marriage. They have one daughter, two sons, as well as two granddaughters. In his spare time, Dr. Reed enjoys family time at home and at the lake. He can also be found playing golf, reading a good book or cruising the lake and maybe on a water ski.
