Get to know General Surgeon Dr. Brian Gluck, who serves patients in Muskegon, Michigan.

Dr. Gluck is a knowledgeable, board-certified general surgeon specializing in bariatric surgery. He started performing bariatric surgeries at Mercy Hospital in December of 2002.

To date, he has performed more than 6,500+ weight loss surgeries at his private practice, Life Without Limits, in Muskegon, Michigan & at Mercy Health Heart Center, where he serves as the Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program.

Having been overweight in his youth, Dr. Gluck has always had a desire to help the overweight population. At Life Without Limits, he and his team have built a comprehensive program ensuring the highest level of patient safety and support throughout one’s weight loss journey.

Graduating with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1991, he went on to further his education. He performed his internship and residency at McLaren Health Care Corporation.

Before long, he attained board certification in general surgery and bariatric surgery through the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS). The AOBS is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the use of surgery to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Achieving fellowship status, Dr. Gluck is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS) and a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS).

In his local area, he is affiliated with Mercy Health Hackley Campus, Mercy Health Lakeshore Campus, and Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial.

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease. They follow the patient through critical care and surgical recovery all the way to outpatient care. 

As a testament to his success, Dr. Gluck is the recipient of On-Time Doctor Award (2014, 2016) and Patients’ Choice Award (2015, 2016).

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons.
