Continental Wellness Centers is proud to announce the leadership of Dr. Michael N. Pierce, MD, FACP, AAVIV-S, as the Medical Director. With extensive experience in internal medicine and a strong commitment to mental health, Dr. Pierce and his dedicated team are set to provide high-quality, evidence-based mental health services tailored to the unique needs of each individual.

Dr. Pierce’s impressive academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from Binghamton University in 1977 and a Medical Degree from The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont in 1982. He advanced his training with a residency in surgery at LAC+USC Medical Center in 1984, followed by a residency in internal medicine at California Pacific Medical Center in 1988. In 2001, Dr. Pierce further specialized by completing a preceptorship in HIV medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Most recently, in 2024, he pursued a mini-fellowship in headache medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.

As a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a specialist in HIV medicine through the American Academy of HIV Medicine, Dr. Pierce is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of care in a rapidly changing healthcare landscape. He is actively involved with several prestigious organizations, including the Society of General Internal Medicine, the American College of Physicians (Fellow), the Florida Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. 

Dr. Pierce’s dedication to excellence has garnered him numerous prestigious accolades. In 2017, he was honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who’s Who. He has also received the Patients’ Choice Award in 2015, 2014, 2012, and 2011, as well as the Compassionate Doctor Recognition in 2014, 2012, and 2011. Most recently, in 2025, Dr. Pierce was awarded the Physician’s Recognition Award with Commendation by the American Medical Association.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Pierce is fluent in English, Spanish, and French, allowing him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
