Get to know Internist Dr. Michael N. Pierce, who serves patients in Florida.

Dr. Pierce is an experienced internist serving as the Medical Director of Continental Wellness Center in Oakland Park, Florida.

Continental Wellness Center provides high-quality mental health services with a focus on evidence-based practices. Its treatment philosophy emphasizes empowerment and strength-based approaches designed to help individuals find hope, realize their potential, and overcome obstacles that have prevented them from living the lives they desire. The Center’s mission is to provide services to individuals with emotional, mental or physical health needs to strengthen communities.

A native of New York, Dr. Pierce graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Binghamton University in 1977. He then went on to earn his medical degree from The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont in 1982.

Furthering his training, he performed his residency in surgery at LAC+USC Medical Center in 1984, and his residency in internal medicine at California Pacific Medical Center in 1988. He also completed a preceptorship in HIV medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2001.

Treating adults, Dr. Pierce is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

A specialist in HIV medicine through the American Academy of HIV Medicine, Dr. Pierce is also an active member of the Society of General Internal Medicine, the American College of Physicians (Fellow), the Florida Medical Association, and the American Medical Association.

Licensed to practice medicine in Florida, New York, and California, he is affiliated with Holy Cross Hospital.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

In 2017, Dr. Pierce was honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who. He was also awarded the Patients’ Choice Award (2015, 2014, 2012, 2011) and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014, 2012, 2011).

On a more personal note, he is fluent in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, and French.
