As the eighth of twelve children, Dr. Urrutia’s interest in obstetrics began at a young age. She was born in Ohio and relocated to Austin upon completion of medical school at Northeastern Ohio Medical University in 2007. She then completed her training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Austin in 2011. While in training, she began her family with the birth of her two children, Emma and Oliver.
Recognized as one of the Texas Top Doctors 2021 in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Urrutia provides personalized obstetrical and gynecological care for patients of all ages. She is an advocate for preventative care for women throughout their lives, including annual well woman exams and women’s healthcare screening. She has served as the Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. David’s Medical Center from 2017-2019 and 2021-present.
Certified in da Vinci robotic surgery and single incision laparoscopic surgery, she is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
