Dr. Frank J. Pinto Jr., has dedicated more than three decades to full-time clinical practice in the field of dermatology. As a partner at Schweiger Dermatology Group since 2010, he serves patients across multiple locations in Connecticut, including Milford, Norwalk, Stamford, Greenwich, and New London.

A native of Fairfield County, Dr. Pinto grew up in Easton and graduated from Fairfield Prep. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Yale University, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. His dedication to medicine led him to Georgetown University School of Medicine on a U.S. Navy scholarship, where he earned his Medical Degree with top honors as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.

Dr. Pinto’s career path then led him to the U.S. Navy, where he completed an internship in surgery at Naval Hospital San Diego before serving as an Undersea Medical Officer at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton, Connecticut. Following his naval service, he pursued his residency in dermatology at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he excelled as chief resident in his final year.

After his residency, Dr. Pinto returned to the Navy, completing two tours as a dermatologist, at U.S. Naval Hospital Guam and Naval Hospital Beaufort, South Carolina. Subsequently, he transitioned to private practice at Princeton Medical Group in New Jersey and later established South Georgia Dermatology in Tifton, Georgia where he worked for over a decade.

In 2009, Dr. Pinto joined the Schweiger Dermatology Group, where his expertise in medical and surgical dermatology, particularly in skin cancer detection and treatment, has made a significant impact. His commitment to patient care extends to his specialization in inflammatory and autoimmune skin diseases, such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.

Furthermore, Dr. Pinto holds fellowship status as both a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.

Beyond his outstanding professional achievements, his dedication to service is exemplified by his return to military duty in December 2022 as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Rhode Island Air National Guard, where he is training to become a flight surgeon. 

In his leisure time, Dr. Pinto indulges his passion for ballroom dancing, golf, and hockey, showcasing his diverse interests and unwavering dedication to excellence in all aspects of his life.
