Dr. Wilcox is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who provides comprehensive, compassionate care to patients at Hand and Microsurgery Associates in Columbus, Ohio. He specializes in sports medicine, as well as the operative and nonoperative treatment of the knee, shoulder, elbow, and ankle. 

For more than 30 years, Hand and Microsurgery Associates (HMA) has been the top resource for expert orthopedic surgery in Central Ohio. Initially started as a hand and upper extremity practice, HMA has expanded considerably in the last several years to now include the treatment of all orthopedic conditions at every age level.  Their board-certified orthopedic surgeons are consistently voted among the top surgeons in Columbus every year, and they are consistently recognized nationwide as leaders in their field.

After graduating from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Dr. Wilcox completed his internship and residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. This was followed by a fellowship in sports medicine at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. 

Playing an active role in his field, he is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

An expert in arthroscopic surgery, Dr. Wilcox is well trained in the most recent advances in minimally invasive surgery which offer patients faster recovery, less pain, and improved function. He also is trained in robotically-assisted total knee replacements which are less invasive and customized to each patient. He is affiliated with Dublin Methodist Hospital and St. Ann’s Hospital, as well as the Polaris Surgery Center.  

Benefiting from his affiliation with several professional organizations, he is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. 

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

Dr. Wilcox sees patients of all ages and accepts most insurance plans.
