Get to know Emergency Physician Dr. Ryland Salsbury, who serves patients throughout the State of Virginia.

Dr. Salsbury is a board-certified emergency physician who treats a wide range of acute conditions or injuries in an emergency room.

Working in the state of Virginia, he is affiliated with Johnston-Willis Hospital, TriCities Hospital, and Chippenham Hospital – all of which are a part of HCA Virginia Health System.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Salsbury graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Marquette University in 2009. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 2013, after which he performed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center from July 2013 until June 2017. 

Before long, the doctor attained board certification in emergency medicine through the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional, and examination standards. 

Upon embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Salsbury worked with ApolloMD from August 2017 until December 2018.

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. An emergency physician is a physician who works at an emergency department to care for acutely ill or injured patients. They care for unscheduled and undifferentiated patients of all ages.
