Dr. Peter Soukas is a vascular and endovascular cardiologist practicing in Providence, RI. - Currently an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine of Brown University, and am the Founder and Director of the Brown Vascular & Endovascular Medicine Fellowship and give lectures to the medical students, residents and fellows from Brown Medical School and the residency and fellowships programs at the Miriam & RI hospitals in Providence, RI. I have delivered over 475 invited presentations at local, regional and international meetings and scientific symposia. I have been a site principal investigator on over 170 clinical trials and been the Global principal investigator for the RELINE MAX trial and will be a co-national PI for the upcoming carotid intravascular lithotripsy trial. I am the recipient of the Raymon Riley teaching award in Cardiology in 2015 and the 2020 Dean's Excellence in Teaching Award.
Areas of research
Dr. Soukas’ clinical research interests include carotid stenting, intravascular lithotripsy, femoropopliteal stent-grafts, the Detour percutaneous bypass procedure, and the interventional treatment of both arterial and venous peripheral vascular disease. He has been a site principal investigator on over 150 clinical trials, including 27 carotid trials, and was the global PI for the RELINE MAX study. He is a co-national PI for the upcoming Shockwave carotid stent trial. He has delivered over 475 invited presentations nationally and internationally with dozens of peer reviewed publications.
