Qiong Shen is an Acupuncturist and Herbalist who has been practicing in San Francisco, CA for over 30 years. Dr. Shen evaluates and treats patients based on Four Diagnostic Methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine, also known as "Wàng Wén Wèn Qiè" (Inspection, Listening & Smelling, Inquiring and Palpation). Based on the evaluations, Dr. Shen will prescribe the best plan cater to your condition, whether it is herbal medicine, acupuncture treatments or combination of both.
In the concept of TCM, the life-energy of the body, also known as "Qi", flows through a network of channels called the Meridian Channels. When these channels are obstructed, Qi is not able to flow freely, therefore, creates problems for the body. TCM targets these presentations of the body by restoring the natural flow of Qi through herbal medicine and acupuncture treatments.
Acupuncture treatments are performed by placing very fine acupuncture needles into specific acupressure points on the body. The needles stimulate these points, remove the obstruction and restore the natural flow of Qi.
